Travel Diary #1: Pimann Buri Resort & Spa, Aonang Krabi

Monday 30 June 2014

A while ago, I was given the privilege to stay in the beautiful newly-opened resort, Pimann Buri Resort & Spa in Aonang, Krabi. Beach holidays have always been my favourite so you can imagine the excitement when I first got the news :)

Here's an intriguing little fact about the resort's name - Pimann Buri means “Heavenly City” in Sanskrit and the resort lived up to its name for sure. Each villa was designed according to the mystical Thai belief that there are six levels of heaven: Catummaharaja, Catu Trayastrimsa, Yama, Tusita, Naimmanarati and Parimmitarasavatti. To add to the exclusivity of the resort, Pimann Buri was located in a secluded stretch of Krabi 40 minutes away from the Airport and 20 minutes away from Aonang Beach's hustle & bustle.

Our Villa was beautiful and had everything Pierre and I needed. We were lucky to wake up each morning to lovely weather and absolute tranquility. We spent our afternoons soaking in the outdoor pool, talking about our aspirations and in the evenings, we took quiet strolls along the beach.

With such peaceful surroundings, Pimann Buri was the perfect place for Pierre and I to disconnect from technology and make it a point to be present for each other. At the end of our short trip, we returned home feeling pretty rejuvenated and ready to face the new semester :)

Both Pierre and I are truly grateful to Pimann Buri Resort & Spa for such an unforgettable experience. Now every other beach holiday will have to come close to the 'heavenly' standards of Pimann Buri ;) - if anyone has suggestions for our next getaway, I'd love to hear from you!
